north road photo

After having looked at your web pages yesterday I was astonished to see a early photo of North Road Pontywaun dated 1898. I believe that this was from a collection of photos of a Mr J Morgan. I wondered if it would be possible for a email address of Mr J Morgan, or perhaps he could contact me on the email address above. The reason that I am interested in this particular photograph is the fact that my Great-Great Grandfather, Henry John Smith actually built the houses in the picture and my father Graham Carl Browning, amongst other family members was actually born in the left hand house, which was number 2.

So I wondered how Mr J Morgan came about the photo and whether there was anyway to prove if the people in the photo were actually related to me!!

I don't have any contact details for J. Morgan. Photos were were obtained and distributed via a third party. I'll forward the question to them.

no he worked in the celynon south until closure and then caretaker of cwmcarn primary until his retirement 3 years ago.

Hi,

If it is possible I would like to be able to see the pictures of North Road, Pontywaun.

I have visted Nort Road this year and last year trying to locate Cwmcarn Terrace. I now beleieve it was at the end of North Road, the houses being demolished in about 1945 and the new house numbers being incorportaed in to North Raod. So Cwmcarn Terrace has ceased to exist.

My family rented or owned at least two houses in the Terrace so any help would be greatly appreciated.
