Subject: Club Grounds Work

You enjoyed the dinner, ate too much, drank too much now is the time to work some of the excesses off!!
JOHN HARDY NEEDS HELP to get all the ancillary jobs done and we would like to do this next weekend, 8th and 9th May .KO next Saturday from 9-00am and again on the Sunday from 9-00am to complete as much of the work as we can.

The work starts with a complete clean up of the drive, from the bottom of the drive to the Clubhouse. This just needs lots of bodies with brushes & rubbish bags. The grass will be cut on either side of the main entrance gateway, in an attempt to make it immaculate. This is our shop window to the outside world and appearance, first impressions etc are essential. If you have a petrol mower , strimmer etc.please bring them along to help get this job done. We then move to the training pitch where we need to remove / cut back, all the weed growth to the side of the pitch next to the park.We need to repeat this, alongside the scrumaging area next to the field adjoining this area where the public footpath is and continue this down to the bottom corner by the stream.
The next job is to identify where the current field drains emerge to the stream. Mark them for future access and clear them of any blockages so that the system works.
Once done, John has arranged for the use of a JCB free of charge, to dig out the stream to get water away and then level the ground to the stream and remove all the weed and brambles growth. If we can source them, we would then like to place 4 or 5 railway sleepers across the brook to enable us to retrieve the balls that end up in or across
the stream.
We then work on anything & everything we can do on the pitch across the brook and generally around the ground.

It's a lot to do. John on his own can't even make an impression on all these things. We have 259 RUGBY MEMBERS. If all of them turned up we would do the jobs in
a morning.

We need your help next weekend. For an hour. A morning, afternoon, all day or all both days.

We cannot do it without you and we all benefit from the work that will be done.

Please make your contribution. Please bring along your own equipment - spades rakes, wheelbarrows, chain saws - anything you have got to help get the jobs done.
Please tell the guys, not on my distribution list, what we are doing and persuade them to also come along and help.
Would the Captains please communicate with their squads and get absolutely as many people there as possible next weekend.

Can't help I,m afraid, Gareth. I'll be in Serbia. I have got some railway sleepers in my back garden and you are welcome to four. I'll be back in the UK on 15th May. I'm about for two weeks then I'm out of the country again.

If you want them give me a ring. They are effing heavy!

Regards,

Mike Flynn
