We've been lucky compared to the East Coast. Cold and freezing rain have been the problems here in central Illinois more than snow. It hasn't been over freezing for more than a day or two in the past 3 weeks. The roads have been glazed with ice, especially in the neighborhoods because plowing and sanding/salting are done less due to budget problems. I planned to drive to Indianapolis to look at a car I wanted to buy but couldn't get out of town on a Saturday for 5 straight weeks. By the time I could (last Saturday), the car was sold. But I found one in St. Louis and hope to pick it up tomorrow.
