My first day at EHS was as a senior, having transfered from Port Chester HS when my parents moved to Eastchester in the summer of 1960. My first day memories, aside from not knowing anyone in the school except my younger brother, include how differently EHS was laid out, how much smaller it was so it was easier to find one's way around, and how it had such a different odor, probably the result of different floor wax and cleaning materials. But great teachers such as James Sloan (History) and Daniel Assuma (English), and wonderful fellow students including Danny Napolitano, Mike Miller, Jill Cornell, Candy Lennox, Steve Auster and Roberta Corso, Judy Startz, Louie Cevitello, and others eased the transition to a new school.
