Words just don't seem to be enough. Mr. Ren was one of those people who was a constant in my high school life, always cheerful, and you knew you could count on him for a straight answer. If you knew me in high school with my shoulder length hair and guitar in hand you would never guess it was Mr. Ren I often went to for advice and guidance. He always tried to see things through my eyes and brought out the best in me. I had the opportunity to talk with him adult to adult in 1986 when I met him and several other teachers one day at the school and they invited me inside to chat with them. Times had changed, society had changed, but Mr. Ren was always Mr. Ren, true to the person that he was. I still have the hammer I made in his shop class and now it sits in tribute to a man who cared about me more than I did for myself at the time. The world is a poorer place because he has passed but I am a better person for having known him. RIP Mr. Ren and thank you from the bottom of my heart. ~~~Flick~~~
