TJ, I just talked to my brother Al (the authority?), Tortolani played for the Dodgers. Davie Parks was on my dad's team. I was an 8 year old and he was my dad's 'ace'. He was a true junk ball pitcher. That coupled with Russ Smith's heat took them all the way to Pa.

As good as that team was, my dad always said he would match his '55 team against it. That Yankee team had Tony Cerasi, Don Scarcello, Jim Latimer, Jackie O'Keefe, Ed and Richie DeVito, Ed Lang, Davie Parks, Al Romeo, J.P. Vecciarelli, my brother Al, Bob White, a kid named Sanpietro and one more I can't remember. Frank Bianco was my dad's assistant coach and my I was the batboy. I don't think they lost a game.

Eugene Gluck was a lefthanded fireballer. I remember at the old LL field across from Lord & Taylor I was sent in to pinch hit against him, I was 8 years old. I actually got a hit (eyes closed) but the outfielders were playing in and I got thrown out from right field. To make me feel better my brother called it a 'shift'. Ha!
