I have all the EAGLET issues from 1974-75 in my personal archives. Publishing that newspaper was something I'll always be grateful for doing ---- It was Mr. Gabe Rescigno, Greenvale's Principal, who actually started me on the path towards journalism. I was having problems in school, and was sent to the pricipal's office one day, and he assigned me to mimeograph the school lunch sheet (on green paper).
(In case you don't know what a mimeograph is: It was a hand-cranked machine like a miniature printing press, that made copies, before the Xerox was in common use).

Years later, through the kindness of Tom Cecere, I was able to use the Graphic Arts department new offset machine to print the EAGLET (production of which had been idle for a while until I re-invigorated it).

That first issue I did, in June of 1974, featured a cover photo which got me in a lot of trouble with the School Board! You see, I had reproduced an image of a Playboy nude beauty Nancy Cameron (the January 1974 20th Anniversary Edition -- her famous centerfold back view) which accompanied the Op-Ed article about the school dress code; a scathing critique authored by senior editor Randi Schulman.

Well, I was called into the principal's office (see a familiar theme here?) and told that freedom of the press was fine, so long as I got prior approval from the EAGLET Faculty Advisor (Mr Andrew Miles) about what we intended to print!

The rest, as they say, is EHS history. The EAGLET was back in business in 1975!
Is it still being published? Anyone know?
