Hi, Myself (a gay male) and my boyfriend where in london at the weekend and were hoping to go to candy bar in soho while we were there. We know the bar is a girls bar and i understand thet there arn't many places dedicated to gay girls on the scene.
however myself and my parnter had been to candy bar in brighton and had a really enjoyable night, the club was great the staff were friendly and so were the girls in the club. we thought we might get the same treatment in soho, this wasnt the case... we were turned away at the door, even when we explained that we were gay and understood it was a girls bar, as i understand there can be problems with straight guys in the venue... i seen no signs saying it was a girls only bar, and before going i had read some reviews from guys who ahad been in the club.
we were told we wernt welcome without being accompanied by girls, i can understand the need to keep the customers mostly girls, but it wasnt as if there was a lack of girls inside.

I have to say i was very disappointed and put a real downer on our night out, I think their is enough prejudice against the gay community without it happening within the community itself. It makes me wonder how the girls would feel if they were refused access to the other gay bars on the scene who are prodominantly aimed at men.

I dont expect much reply but I thought i should voice my opinion.

Jamie
