[Sc in next 2 sc, (sc, ch 20, sc) in next sc] 6 times

This means you do the folowing:

single crochet in each of the next 2 single crochets
in the next single crochet make one single crochet, 20 chains and another single crochet (that's one time)

single crochet in each of the next 2 single crochets
in the next single crochet make one single crochet, 20 chains and another single crochet (that's two times)

single crochet in each of the next 2 single crochets
in the next single crochet make one single crochet, 20 chains and another single crochet (that's three times)

single crochet in each of the next 2 single crochets
in the next single crochet make one single crochet, 20 chains and another single crochet (that's four times)

single crochet in each of the next 2 single crochets
in the next single crochet make one single crochet, 20 chains and another single crochet (that's five times)
