Definitely keep the exercise ball. Some hospitals even provide them to help with contractions during early labor! Also, check JCPenney for furniture. I did the same thing with the dark wood crib and matching dresser/changer combo. Penney's isn't the highest end store but the baby furniture is real wood (not particle board) and the bed is one of those convertible ones that can be used a double bed when you are done with the crib!
