Frankly, I would like to see schools be more about the culture than the competition of Irish Dance, but to be more realistic....

I would change the dresses and toss the wigs. I just don't get the NEED for solo dresses. It seems that especially at the championship level, it should be ALL about the skill of the dancer. To me, the amount of "bling" or the designer of a dress simply should not matter. I also do not feel that the quality of spun nylon fiber or hair cut from another's person's and attached to a dancer's head should be a considertion in evaluating a dancer's skill, ability or presentation.

I would like to see all competitors dressed in school dresses or stretch velvet style dresses so talented and/or dedicated dancers from families with less than a 6 digit income can afford to continue dancing and competing without inflicting financial duress on the family.
