Subject: Skittles's test results

As most of you know, we lost our newest baby bird Skittle last Tuesday. Nathan talked to the vet today, & got the results from her autopsy. Basically, the food that she was given at PetCo before we bought her was not sufficient for her, & she died of malnutrition. By the time we got her & started weaning her to a healthy diet, it was already to late. We would have had to have gotten her in the late summer to have been able to save her. This news has been so upsetting to us, instead of bringing us the closure that we needed. I am so sick of PetCo... They have absolutely no knowledge of birds, & have no business handling them. No telling how many more birds have dies like my poor baby, but in a cold, dark store instead of a warm loving home. I am begging all of you to please boycott PetCo, espcially the one on Hwy. 6 & F.M. 529 (for you Houstonians), where we got Skittles. We have to show them that birds are not just another meal-ticket for them, but special animals with special needs. This must not ever happen again.

Sorry, I'll get off my soapbox now. I want to also thank all of you for your kind words & prayers. They have meant a lot to us, & have helped us through this difficult time. Our beautiful baby will never be forgotten.

Much Love,
Alecia, Nathan, Ethan, Princess, Tilo, Remme', & Piper ^i^
