I have no problem with killing anything that needs it. But I always try to keep it quick and humane. In fact, the only creature that deserves an agonizing death IMO is the occasional human being.

But this looks like the work of the sort of dick who would run a cat through a clothes dryer or nuke one in a microwave (see sentence 2 above). I just can't abide unnecessary cruelty to simple, defenseless animals. Arrows by definition are inhumane, IMO. The animal suffers the shock and pain of being hit, then, hurt and frightened, it slowly bleeds out.

On the other hand, a long-barreled .22 rifle with subsonic ammunition sounds like a cap gun, but with a properly placed shot will render an 80 pound dog—or a 1000-pound steer—dead before it hits the ground.
