If I could be there, I would! However, I just hope that people will understand that even the stores that claim to sell from "reputable breeders" are lying because NO GOOD BREEDER WOULD EVER SELL TO A PET STORE. Good breeders ALWAYS want to screen the prospective homes themselves and they have the time to do so because they do not continuously breed - they make sure they have a suitable wait list of qualified owners and good homes. Good breeders do not do it for the money, they do it for the love and protection of the specific breed and they always want to know exactly where their dogs are.
I remember when I worked at the SPCA many years ago, a woman came into the shelter and she was FURIOUS because one of her dogs was in the shelter and no one had called her to tell her. Any good breeder would feel the same.
Any breeder who sells to a pet store doesn't care about their animals, they are solely breeding for profit and are therefore in many ways just as bad as a puppy mill, regardless of how "clean" the conditions are where their puppies are raised. ALL PET STORES THAT SELL ANIMALS ARE BAD!!! They are all major contributors to the pet overpopulation problem because the animals are nothing more than a commodity - they want to sell as many as they can as quickly as they can, as if they owned a shoe store!!!
Only the pet stores that DO NOT SELL animals or partner with local animal shelters and pounds to ADOPT OUT dogs are good pet stores. These pet stores are trying to be part of the SOLUTION, not the PROBLEM!
