Hey Girls. I found this... Kari Werner (an old Dandie) modified this to fit Dandies thought ya'll might like it....
It's not about getting a scholarship, signing autographs, or getting our name on a poster. We need to practice, to train, to smile, to sweat, to perform. We do it all for our teammates. We don't run barrels with a future champion barrel racer; we ride with a future moms, doctors, heros, family. It's a bigger part of us than our friends and family can understand. Sometimes we perform for 2,000 fans, sometimes for 25. But we still ride our hearts out. You cheer for us because you know us. You know more than just our names. Like all of you, we are still people first. We don't sign autographs for money. But we do sign college applications, go to school, and live a normal life. When we mess up a figure eight, a weave, or have a wreck, we don't let down an entire state. We only let down our teammates, coaches, and fans. But the hurt in our hearts is the same. We train hard. Alaman, rollback, run, trot, smile, sign autographs, and practice, and in the morning we go to school. Still the next day in class we are nothing more than students. It's about pride; in ourselves, in our horses, in our team. It's about our love and passion for the drill. And when it's all over; when we run out of that arena for the last time, our hearts crumble. Those tears are real. But deep down inside, we are very proud of ourselves. We will forever be what few can claim: the Old Fort Days Dandies."
