PLEASE HELP THESE HORSES!!!!!!! hey everyone! i don't know if any one has heard about the 15 mustangs that were dumped in okeechobee. they are all going to be auctioned off tomorrow (April 22) at 2 pm at the okeechobee livestock market. well, only one of them is an actual BLM branded mustang, and the rest were all bred and born in captivity from BLM mustangs. all the mustangs are being taken in by rescues, so they have somewhere to go. now, the auction house was going to give the horses to the rescues for about $10 each, but now the auction is saying that the rescues must bid (against kill buyers!) for them at the auction. i have been talking to one of the rescues that is taking two of the mustangs, and they need a place to hold 8-10 of the mustangs for one or two days while they wait to be transported to the rescues. the auction house won't hold them. if any one down in the okeechobee area can take even just one of them for a day or two while they await to be transported, please please please let me know. (or contact CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm on their facebook page or their website www.cjacres.org) or if anyone is willing to donate money to help the rescues save these 15 mustangs from slaughter (as since it is all rescues who are trying to bid against kill buyers to save the mustangs, they can't really "buy the horses" so they need donations to be able to pay the bids), please contact CJ Acres Animal Rescue Farm. here is the article that has been published on facebook by the Wild Horse Rescue Center: ACTION ALERT: HELP 15 Mustangs up for public AUCTION 15 Mustangs dumped on a highway in Okeechobee, Fl. are being put up for public auction. The auction will be at the Okeechobee Livestock Market. We are posting information, photos, and contact information. Please help us and SHARE this info, we need to find good homes for these Mustangs to avoid any kill buyers!. Only one of the Mustangs had a BLM freezebrand, appears someone allowed the mustangs to breed indescrimanately, and then dumped them! Animal Control pulled Coggins on all horses. In accordance with county ordinance, a legal notice has been published that if no one claims the horses in three days they will be put up for public auction.
