Firstly, let me welcome you all to Handhelds Unleashed, one of the Net's leading Handheld PC forums!
ABOUT ME:
My name is CybaCowboy and I am a 24-year-old father that works in the mobile telecommunications industry. Although though I have only recently made my debut online and don't have the famous name that others in the Handheld PC do (eg. Chris DeHerrera), I have been using Handheld PCs since the beginning (yep, waaay when Windows CE 1.0 was released); I was actually one of the first (and few) people in the Australia to own a Handheld PC! Since the launch of the original Handheld PC, my use of "traditional" computers has declined to the point that I rely exclusively on a Handheld PC for all my computing needs; admittedly this is primarily because of financial reasons, but I firmly believe that even if I did own a "real" computer, I would still rely heavily on my Handheld PC...
ABOUT THIS FORUM:
Seeing as I don't have a lot of HTML experience (actually, more than anything I'm just too lazy!), I jumped at the chance to create my own WYSIWYG (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) forum, hence my reason for choosing VoyForums! My goal for this forum is to fill the void that many Handheld PC users have; with the Handheld PC now officially extinct in the consumer market, most Internet sites tend to focus on the last version of Windows CE, Windows CE for Handheld PCs: 2000 ("Windows CE 3.0"), on specific devices or all generations of Handheld PCs. This site strives to focus on the "forgotten" Handheld PCs, namely those powered by Windows CE for Handheld PCs: Professional Edition ("Windows CE 2.11"); as I primarily use a Hewlett Packard Jornada 820, there will also be a focus on this device...
GENERAL COMMENTS:
As you can gather, all work on this forum is done directly from my Handheld PC and, due to the shortcomings of Windows CE for Handheld PCs: Professional Edition ("Windows CE 2.11"), this severely limits by ability to work on this site; specifically, Pocket Internet Explorer 3.0 does not allow me to upload files, meaning that anything requiring uploading needs to wait until I can access a "real" computer at an Internet cafe or something. However, with time, I hope to build this forum into a thriving community and maybe in the distant future, a stand-alone site with LOTS more content (a lot of it depends on the success of this site and the demand for its services)...
SUGGESTIONS:
I am always open to suggestions, so please feel free to leave any suggestions you may have in my "Suggestions" thread so that I may consider them for implementation...
