Cop bromance!

I like Miles and Sawyer together. I'm a bit confused by the altverse though, it thought it was their lives the way it would have been without the crash, and instead it seems like their pasts have changed too. Unless Sawyer has secretly really been a cop all this time. Or is the altverse their lives had Jacob not intervened when he did? Can't rightly remember all those instances though.

The Alt!Verse is different in the past. They split off 30 years prior, possibly when Jack/Juliet set off the bomblette. Although I had a different idea recently. Because of the question of why was Hugo Reyes in Australia?

Hugo was in Australia in the"IslandVerse" because he was investigating the origin of his winning lottery numbers. But if he was there for a different reason this time, then perhaps what caused the rift between the universes occurred long before when the numbers were first heard.

That would be '16 years ago' or so before flight 815. But you would have to go back even further than that to 1954 or before when the US military was successful or an accident set off Jughead. I think that is what split time.
