The family might appear in the BIA Censuses for the Wisconsin Tribes. You can search them at ancestry.com (abt 1880-abt 1937). If the Peladeau and related family surnames appear there, it gives proof of Indian blood and will name the tribe for you. That would be my first action. Also, you can use the same site to research the US Census, if you have not already done so. Most LDS Family History Centers have a copy of the Wisconsin Vital Records, if one is not already online somewhere....or it can be ordered in to the FHC if your local center doesn't already have it. These items plus regular county records (check the Library Catalog under "Library" at http://www.familysearch.org for county records. Then, using the titles from those, see if any are already online by Googling the titles. I hope this helps. Wisconsin, usually, is a great place to research. Don't forget the local genie societies where you are working in WI; the sometimes have published records available no place else. Good luck and good hunting.
