Hello everyone. I am searching for my native family, my great great grandparents. Amable Ouimet married Louise Chonier on October 11, 1825. Their son was Charles Ouimet born July 22, 1847 in Canada. Charles married Marie L'Esperance - born May 6, 1845 in Henryville Quebec on July 30, 1867 at St-Georges, Henryville in lower Canada. I think this means Quebec. They had 8 children one of which was my grandfather William Arthur Ouimet born March 28, 1884 in Swanton VT. I understand that the Abenaki community in Swanton VT recognizes the name Ouimet as a surname having Abenaki heritage. We believe that our native heritage comes through Great Great Grandmother Marie L'Esperance Ouimet and are searching for her people. I would like to know if there is anyway to contact them to let them know that the Ouimets are down here in Hampshire County in Massachusetts and are doing family research and also to contribute to anyone in their area who may be doing research as well. Any help would be very deeply appreciated.
