You will need to snoop around in the area as well as online to see if you can find others who are researching the tribe or the area who can help you. Beyond that, you will need to look for deeper records that might be kept on the County or Provincial level such as birth, death, marriage, burial, land, probate and court records. To look at records which you can see on microfilm in your local LDS Family History Center, go to <a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://www.familysearch.org">http://www.familysearch.org</a> ; click on "find a Family History Center" ; then, back on the home page, click on "Family History Library Catalog" ; choose Place Search; input Canada and Bear Island or the name of the Province.
