I am searching for parents/siblings and/or any information/leads on LETITIA (MCKINNEY - the last name is questionable). LETITIA b. 2 Dec 1787, location unknown d. 2 Oct 1866 Bluffton, Wells Co., Indiana. She m. 1804 ROBERT SOWARDS b. 23 Apr 1781 d. 25 Jul 1871 Bluffton, Wells Co., Indiana. According to Ohio census records, Robert and Letitia had the following children, but others are likely as well: ELIZABETH SOWARDS b. 1810; ESTHER SOWARDS b. 2 Nov 1818 in Ohio m. ZACHARIAH INSLEY (my 3rd Great-grandparents); ELINOR SOWARDS b. 1829; and REBECCA SOWARDS b. 1831. All children were born in Ohio. Family histories and stories have stated that LETITIA was a Seneca Indian. Her daughter Esther Sowards Insley was described as "a tall girl, 6 feet tall" in sharp contrast to her "sawed off" Scottish husband who barely stood over 5 feet tall. I have continued to run into a brick wall on Letitia's family and heritage. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
