 Catholic records and town records (in Vermont) may be a big help, here. Locate the records on microfilm by the name of the village or parish in the Family History Library Catalog at http://www.familysearch.org If the records found are on film, you can order them into your local LDS Family History Center (see the address of the ones nearest to you on the main page at Family Search.

The geographic area, St. Francis, Canada. Do you know the province?
