 The Canadian censuses list native people as such, often. If your research, so far, has not included those records, I hope you will search them. You can obtain them on microfilm through the library at Salt Lake City. Go to their site at http://www.familysearch.org and do a Place Search in the Family History Library Catalog. You can order the film into your local LDS Family History Center. Look on the main page for the address of the center closest to you.
