 The genealogy is online at ancestry.com and may be at other web sites as well. It seems to me that studying the history of the Petite Nation and the geographic markers and movements of the families (from the genealogical information)might cast light on the name of the band from which they came. Also, I would sign on to any Message Boards or Mailing Lists on Rootsweb and elsewhere to see if further information might be found there.
