I am attempting to create a family tree. From what I know my family history extends to the Oglala nation. My name is Floyd Dean Higgins, My father's name is Floyd Dean Higgins, and his father's name was the same. I know very little about this however my father changed our last name to Standing Warrior when I was very young. My father's mother's maiden name was Montoya. My father has a sister Deana Rae Higgins however her mother was Mary Elizabeth Clements. So same father different mothers. My mother in-law says the "Higgins" clan used to hang in Texas area. Any leads would help.
