 The Manitoba Censuses (1830-1870) available through the LDS at http://www.familysearch.org should chronicle these families if they remained in Manitoba from early times. Additionally, the book by Sprague and Frye called Genealogies of the First Metis Nation would be very helpful. Also, books and CD's by Gail Morin available online might be helpful. Let us know how you get along.
