Coats [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 11:36:15 06/14/06 Wed Author Host/IP: NoHost/216.134.1.75 Hello to all, Was hoping to find someone, somewhere, who could advise me as to two questions(one genealogical and the other is linguistic): 1st, Does anyone have any idea if Mary DORION, dau. of Pierre Dorion Sr.(1740-1810/11) by his wife, Holy Rainbow(Yankton/Nakota Sioux woman)married or not? My info is that she was born c. 1791 in the Nemaha Terr., Missouri Territory but I can't find any direct evidence of a marriage. I may have some circumstantial evidence that she did marry a Jean Baptiste Bonneau, but I don't have anything concrete. 2d: Anyone have any idea how "Holy Rainbow" translates back into Nakota? I don't have a Sioux-English Dictionary so am stuck on this. Any info/help at all is greatly appreciated. Regards, Larry D.H.
