I'm also an ancestor of John Owens and Maths, his Seneca wife. Nice meeting you!
I'm not sure if you mean Mary Ice was mother to Tecumseh (Tecumtha is really a closer pronounciation of his name), but Tecumseh's mother was Methotaske (Turtle laying her eggs in the sand) She met Tecumseh's father, Puckinswah, in Cherokee/Creek country, probably South Carolina.
The Galloways built a cabin on the site where Tecumseh lived after Europeans invaded Ohio. Tecumseh became their friend. While many report that Tecumseh was romantically involved with a Galloway woman, experts feel that's a fallacy for two major reasons: in following his own philosophy, Tecumseh wouldn't marry or have an affair with a white woman and 2, the Galloway woman didn't tell this story until she was elderly. And that was to someone writing a book. It's believed she made it up.
Of course, I could be wrong. But I do know a lot about Tecumseh, and thought you might be interested in this story for accuracy reasons only.
