My sisters and I just learned that our father has Native American blood. He believes that the tribe may be the choctaw from north dakota, Minnesota, or possibly Wisconsin.
The family names are: Cassius John Baker (born around 1850-1860) who was married to Elizabeth Francis, and Horace Frank Baker, who was born in Ellsworth, Wisconsin around 1880. Horace Frank Baker was a teacher on an Indian reservation. In his picture that we have of him, he looks very handsome, with native american features with high cheeckbones, dark eyes and hair.
We are very excited to learn more about this native american connection.
