 I have the 1896 applications to Cherokee Nation of my g grandfather Adam Hindman Hamman and my gg grandmother (his mother) Charity(Turman)Hamman... both denied! Looking for any info on John Brown who owned and resided at Brown's Ferry-Inn-Tavern on TN River at Moccasin Bend at base of Lookout Mountain near Chatanooga what is now Tiftonia, Hamilton County,TN... and when he was 'removed'. My gg grandmother Charity Eamline(Turman)Hamman says he should have been on the 1836 roll. Her account of lineage is as follows: Her brother was Thomas Turman, their parents were Larkin and Lucy(Allison)Turman; Lucy was a daughter of William and Charity(Brown)Allison; Charity(Brown)Allison was a illegitimate daughter of one ? Brown... thinks the name is Nancy or Jane, who had a brother named Robert. Nancy or Jane and Robert were the children of John Brown. Please contact me with any leads or helpful research information.
