I am also searching for information on Charles Roark and Abigail "Cherokee" Indian. I came across two webpages. One had her as the chief's daughter??? Another one had her as Abigail "Cherokee" Canoe. Others have her as Abigail Eastridge. This is confusing and I am hitting many brick walls. All I can say, is I saw information that Charles Roark was born around 1750 in Augusta Co. Va. Charles and Abigail was married in Montgomery Co. Va. (Is this Washington Co. today). My father, Jesse Lincoln Roark was born in Washington Co. Va. The son of Charles Roark and Abigail Cherokee Indian...Timothy Roark, born around 1790 married Rebecca Osborne, grandaughter of Chief Red Bird. with all this connecting..I am wondering if Abigail was a daughter of a chief. I believe Abigail come from the Indian Valley area...in western/southern Virginia. I have to research much and hoping we come across people who may have answers/documentation. I descend from Timothy Roark and Rebecca Osborne. If we can find Abigail" Cherokee "name in lists. The Cherokee
Heratige Center, they have the microfilm and may have done some
translating.
Do anyone know where this is?
Any help will be appreciated!
