Back when I took up smoking at the age of 40, they began to make a big deal of it. I counted back and I'm pretty sure my first one came on Jan. 14, 2001. It's not such a big deal now. After 3 weeks, I smoked at work which was the last place let it be known I was a smoker. I've found later that my daughters were at least dabbling in smoking earlier. My oldest smoked by the previous September. The other 2 started with neighbor girls around the start of the Christmas holidays.
Both grandmothers knew the girls were smoking and smoking with them but not telling me. Thanks always for your post, Mindy.
