It is the 1382nd year of Our Lord, and almost eight years have passed since the death of King Edward Jonathan Pierrefond II. Six years have passed since the death of Indigo's following King, the much loved King Erik Charles Pierrefond, and the Queen Glennin Genvissa Grace de la Courcel Pierrefond, the woman who killed both King Edward and King Erik, has ruled for six years. The country of Indigo is in turmoil; theft and crime rages across the lands, despite the harsh punishments facing such crimes. Assassins and thugs rule the streets of Indigo, most of which are allowed this right by the Queen herself. The people suffer, and they long for their lost Kings of Old, the Pierrefond tribe. Can nothing save them from the cruel ways of Glennin de la Courcel?

Erik left Glennin with three children, but he had already been left with a child of his own, through his late wife Celia, another victim of Glennin's cruel ways. This child still remains hidden from the clutches of the power-hungry Queen, in the safe hands of the rebel Brethren. There he is being raised to be what he truly is, a champion, a warrior, and, more than anything, Indigo's true King. But can he overcome the forces that stand in his way, and can he gain enough followers to take his rightful place on the throne? Power has shifted, and the sides have changed; those before loyal are now rebelling against the throne, those who were once traitors are now trusted followers of the Queen. Can order be restored in Indigo? Which side will you choose; will you be one of the wealthy and powerful followers of Glennin de la Courcel, or will you fight beside the good and truthful William Pierrefond? The choice is in your hands, and so is the faith of the Kingdom of Indigo.
