Subject: Acheron - Who has read it?

I wrote a review for it at the site I belong to. I read it during a marathon of TWELVE HOURS! Straight.
I took my vacation...a staycation, I guess and ignored all dust bunnies, all laundry and just read and read.
And you know what? I had to put it down and walk away and then come back to it. It was that intense. It was that heartbreaking. It was that wonderful.

I think Sherrilyn met all our hopes for him. I liked her choice of heroine, I loved the dialogue... there are SO many points to ponder but no one has been here to share. So, I'm afraid to talk about it much.

And I'm curious about Jaden but why him and not Savitar?

Anyone want to talk about the SODA incident?

ROTFL

[> Hi Michele - You beat me to starting the discussion. I admit, I was all prepared to be disappointed. After so long, how could Ash's story (whatever it turned out to be) ever be enough? But, y'know, I would say Sherri pulled it off almost perfectly. I liked Ash before, but was never fanatical about him to the degree so many others were. But he was just SO sweet and worthy and hurt, how could anyone not just fall madly in love? I'll put a few questions above, to make discussion easier. -- Beth, 08:12:18 09/01/08 Mon [1]

[> For me,it was a great read overall but the second half of the book was a little disappointing.I think, like Beth said, how could it ever be enough? I wanted an emotional,gut-wrenching book.I wanted to weep & cry & rage, and that's what I got,the first 400 or so pages. It met & totally exceeded my expectations, the first half.Theories i'd had for years were proven/expanded,in a nasty way.I was lost a little,in the second half, trying to know Tory, and then with her turning into the whatever-Atlantian guardian thing. Then Artie has some kind of goon squad/mafia cult thing, that annoyed me,trying to keep up.But the important thing,to me,was that it wasn't crap.I got what I wanted,at least the first half, and it was so wonderful that I think that carried me through some of the parts in the second half that bugged me. -- Boadicea, 21:02:42 09/01/08 Mon [1]
