Hey!
Having been a HUUUGE fan of Soleil since I first watched "Punky" in Norway back in December,1995, I always enjoy reading about her and seeing update picture of her etc. Unbfortuunaltely I have not been able to watch her on Sabrina the Teenage Witch yet but I don't fret over it like I would have a few years ago, ha-ha.
I moved to Los Angeles from Seattle 2 1/2 years ago and obne day I got in my car and started driving around just to see what was "out there'. As I was driving it dawned on me that SOleil lived on the street that I just crossed and that I should go look up the house she used to live in. See, while I was back in Norway still, in 1990, I one day received a handwritten letter from Soleil! She had found y letter in all her fan ail and decided to write back! Not only did she write back but it was handwritten AND she gave me her private home address. of course she asked me not to give it out, which I didn't. But 9 years later whiole driving around in Los Angeles I still remebered her home address and decided to swing by. Chances were she didn't live there anymore but it would still be cool to see the house she once did live in. So I finally found it, hesitated for a second and knocked on the door. A middle aged lady opened ans wondered who I was. I felt stupid and clumsy but explained that I was an old pen pal of hers from 10 years ago who just happened to remember this address and if Soleil still lived there. She paused for a second, asking my name again and then she innvited me in. It was her mom, Sondra! I was surprised by her generousity and friendliness as she invited me to stay for dinner since Soleil was supposed to be over shortly. Her brother, Meeno, and his girlfriend were also there and they showed me slides from their recent trip to Thailand. Then about 2 hrs later she showed up with her husband, Jason and her best friend. It was amazing..... I was like in a daze.... I could hardly believe it! Soleil! And her family! They were all very polite, down to earth and unbelievably friendly! Soleil almost had a heat-attack when her mom explained who I was. She definetely remebered me. She then gave me her new home phone number and told me to give her a call as she wanted to "chat", as she put it. She kept looking over at me saying: "How cute is she??"
Unfortunately we have lost contact since, this was in late June 1999 and someone stole my wallet with her number in it.
I do remember her old address though....Maybe I should stop by again?
