Subject: Mollies

My daughter,13 years old, wanted fish. About a year ago she got some guppies and a tiger barb. All the guppies died. Last week she talked me into getting her 5 fairly large mollies (about 1 1/2 inches long). They lived for 5 days, then one by one started to die. In the process, babies appeared. The tiger barb dissappeared. We assume he got eaten. All the big fish are dead now. She has about 10 fry left. What went wrong? Do we have any hope of saving the babies? They are 3 days old now. We have well water. Thanks for any help.
