I have black mollies and tetras too. Adding 2 TBSP of aquarium salt to the 10 gal. tank water as I was advised, reduced the amount of ick. Mollies are from slightly salty water in estuaries on the coast and seem to do better with some salt. I agree with the other message about ick quick cure ( formadehyde and malachite green). If several mollies have ick, I'll do 5 drops in my 10 gallon tank twice a day for 5 days. That's half dose in deference to the tetras. If a molly still has ick after that, I'll put it in a small "hospital tank" for a few days with full dose or slightly more. However, the stress of moving it and the temperature change makes this hospital tank of less value than it could be. I've also found that keeping the water at 82 F helps. One time my heater went out and all the mollies got ick in the cold tank, almost overnight. Good luck! My fish are breeding a lot so I assume they're happy.
