Subject: after the babies are born!!!!

I need help!! I bought 1 black mollie on the 1st of Jan. The next day I saw little ones in my tank. I did not know she was pregnant, and I thought all fish laid eggs. Well anyway I had to manually gather 20 little ones in the box. Does this affect them?? And mom is acting really crazy. Trying to get into the box and shaking!! What do I need to do? Are they going to be ok even though I had to move them? How many fish can I have in a 6 gal tank?? My count is now 27. I will appriciate any advice!!!
