Subject: clown loach

i had a dwarf gourami fish with that same problem. its skin was peeling and everything.he always seemed to be at the top of the tank, while the other different fish were at the bottom. maybe its because of the other fish in the tank. one day i came home and he was floating on the top, dead. there seems to be nothing to do about it that i know of. but, i do have a clown loach who is small but heathy and fairly active. maybe its because the fish is not too active or is not fed the proper food. loaches are bottom feeders and enjoy food pellets that drop to the bottom of the tank.they could be frightened. try adding more loaches so they feel safer.thats about all i can give you!
BYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
