Subject: Elephant nose fish

We have two Angolan Elephant nose fish. I have them in a
30 gal. tank with Tiger Barbs, Emerald Barbs and tri color
sharks. I run a H.O.T. Magnum filter, have plenty of artifical (hollow) logs for them to hide in and gravel on the bottom of the tank. I feed them frozen blood worms from a cone feeder. They are extremely healthy and the tank bosses! I had a major ICH infestation at one time and I raised the tank temp to 85degs. and desolved 6 table spoons on NON-iodized sea salt to 2 cups of water and added it to the tank. I did this for a total of 4 times, once every 12 hrs. Once fish survive ICH they will build a strong emunity to it. Guess were I got the ich from? Petco barbs that I brought home! Before getting the Elephant nose the tank was already established with the Barbs. I later added the elephant nose and Sharks. I really don't do anything special to the tank other than a 1/3 water change once a month and change the charcoal/filter once a month. I've been trying to talk my wife into a 75 gal tank but shes not into it. Good luck and if your going to buy fish from Petco make sure they are healthy and not sluggish with little white connotn on them!
