Subject: Pregnant Green Puffer?

Hello all, I'm new here & I have a question. I have a Green Puffer fish that I think may be pregnant or have eggs or whatever Green Puffers do (I think they lay eggs), lol. I noticed today that it's stomach is getting quite swollen & looks kind of "bubbly" like it may have eggs in it. It's coloring & fins/tail look very healthy & it has a good appitite. It is in a tank with a goldfish & a male Beta. I separated it tonight in a net box in the same tank. How long before they typically lay their eggs if they are carrying some? Also, when it does lay it's eggs, should I take the mother out of the net so she won't eat the eggs since I know they do eat smaller live things too? Thanks so much. Betty
