Subject: UPSIDE DOWN ORANDA!!!!!

Today i bought a cute little red Oranda, it looked completley fine in the pet shop, I chose it carefully.
When i bought it home and put in my fish tank, it started to swim on its head. It couldnt seem to keep itself upright. Im sick of buying fish, only to see them float and die. Should i take it back to the shop??? Or does anyone know what the problem is and how i might treat it?? Its such a beautiful fish and i would hate to see it die..........
