Subject: Friend for goldfish

Hi,
My goldfish just moved into a 10 gallon tank and theyre not really really big goldfish - only about 2 inches each. I'm wondering what kind of SMALL fish i could get to be "friends" with them so that the tank doesnt look so darn barren. I have a filter and a bubbler but no heater the guy at the petstore says "get a beta" but I have a feeling it would eat my poor little fishies to peices- besides i want something that moves around a bit. SO if anyone has any suggestions for a friend for my fishies i'd gladly appreciate it :0)
