My lionhead had black spots all over. I read online about "Black Smudge" which is basically this:
The spots are sort of like scabs from amonia burns. My tank wasn't cycled yet so I did a full water change and I have been doing partials every 1-3 days depending on amonia levels for a couple of weeks now and I'm happy to say my fish is almost healed. He only has one spot left.
