Try Maracyn-Two by Mardel laboratories, it worked on one of my danios who had a very bad case of dropsy. Isolate the fish in a well aerated hospital tank and follow the instruction. Eliminate all sources of stress. When the treatment is over, keep the fish isolated (do a little water change every other day, about 20 %) After 2 or 3 water changes, add a little bit of salt (the one for fish, not regular salt! follow the directions on the box) if the fish tolerates it (some species don't!), this will help for the convalescence of your fish. Don't put back the fish in the aquarium too soon. Be patient and continue water changing the hospital tank from time to time. This kind of disease can be very stuborn and putting back the fish in the aquarium (even if he looks fine) too soon may trigger another outbreak of dropsy. That's what happened to my danio, she's actually in the hospital tank and I have to treat her again! The whole treatment must last about 2 to 3 weeks. Live and learn... Hope I'm not too late! Good luck!
