Subject: My Platty had babies! YAY!
In reply to: Dan Martwick 's message, "Re: Pregnent Platty please help!" on 20:37:58 11/16/99 Tue

My Platty just had babies yesterday... it was around 6:30 when checking up on the fish that i saw the little ones swimming about. I quickly siphoned some water into a small bowl tank and set up some objects for them to hide in. I then had to net and transfer each baby individually into the bowl. The whole process took about 3 hours to get the majority of the babies out. the tough part was because the babies kept going down into the substrate and burying themselves. the only thing i could really do was stir up the water so the babies would get churned up. i think there are some more in the tank after i got done. Now the lil bowl that houses the babies has an air feed into it for Oxygen. I'm correct in saying that all i need to feed the babies is to grind up the flakes into a powder? OK lets hope i end up with some fish! thanks for all the info
