It is usually accepted that black mollies can survive in a saltwater aquarium and are commonly used as a start-up fish to help along with the cycle. I got a 55 galon tank and I put 10 mollies in. The temperature is 78F, all readings for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates were at 0, the PH is 8.2 or very close to that. Salinity is 1.023, what it should be in a saltwater tank. Still, two of the fish died in the first 10(!!!) hours and the rest of them show signs of enormous stress... I am afraid they won't survive for too long either... Does anybody out there has any idea what could possibly went wrong?
