Subject: Bump oN Betta's pectoral fin

I have had my male betta for about a year - he is in a 5 gallon tank and recently I noticed a bump (possibly a cyst or tumor?) at the base of his right pectoral fin. Other than this he eats okay & seems healthy but this bump is very strange. I've posted this same question on another forum & no one ever replied. Please...if you have any idea what this could be let me know. THANKS!!!
