Subject: DONE!!!

My project for the Red Cross is finally over! Me and my 65 volunteers distributed 30 tons of food, clothing, toiletries, toys, shoes, linens, etc to about 2200 people last Saturday and it went off quite nicely too, with no snow or brawls and I was in the paper twice and on the radio once (I sounded awful).

I spent the last week doing statistics and writing thank you notes and having post-project meetings but for the most part it's finished (until next year, that is) and I'm so relieved!

Well done, I'm not surprised you're relieved, it sounds as if it was a mammoth task to take on and you should be very proud of yourself! Wish I'd heard you on the radio, any links for the papers?

Our needy aren't exactly living on the streets but there are a lot of working poor, or disabled people with not enough income, not to mention all the immigrants. Poverty in Switzerland isn't exactly a popular issue but it does exist.
